Yankee Doodle Dandy

I have a quilting finish to share with you from a couple of months ago!  This is my Yankee Doodle Dandy quilt.  It was an easy and fun pattern.  Just what I needed for not sewing much recently.  I got a quilt kit from the designer as well which made things very fast as the kit came cut in 5" strips so I only had to subcut.

I also joined the Fat Quarter Shop 2020 Mystery BOM (sold out) and I got my first block early this month.  I started to work on it right away and my first block is finished.
I've been really enjoying flowers from Trader Joes.  Most recently, I picked up peonies and they were gorgeous.  I've never had peonies in our home before but I think we will definitely be celebrating peony season each year from now on.   Fresh flowers have been bringing me joy!  What is bringing you joy during these crazy times?
I hope all your stitches are happy ones!

Your Yankee Doodle quilt is great, Jackie! I hope you found a way to use it - display it? - to celebrate Independence Day. Were you able to do anything special? It was "just another day" for us. Pretty flowers too. We don't have a Trader Joe's, and in fact, I feel grateful that we can get to a grocery store every ten days or so, just for food. Coronavirus has done a great job of making me a homebody! Be safe.

Great job on your flag quilt--to be enjoyed for many patriotic events. The Fat Qtr Block of the Month looks like its going to make a beautiful quilt. Peonies one of my favorites--one of my happiest: dayliles, hydrangea, and cone flower

Your Yankee Doodle Dandy Quilt is gorgeous!! Love your new start on the FQ quilt. I love peonies, mine didn't do well this year. Trader joe's has great flowers, haven't been since the virus outbreak. They always make your feel good having fresh flowers in the house.

Your quilting is beautiful.
I need to learn more about quilting, I took a class, but that was many years ago.
My SIL in Alaska sent me a jelly Roll for my BDay, so I need to do something with it soon.
The Peonies are very pretty.
I've been stitching more in these crazy times.

Love your Yankee Doodle Dandy quilt, Jackie! It turned out great as did your block of the month. What a lovely bouquet of peonies!

I have been writing notes several times a week which is bringing me joy. Who doesn't like to receive something fun or unexpected in the mail?!?!?!

Have a good week!

WOW so neat Jackie - Love the flag quilt - you are sooooo talented. I love your new BOM piece too. My mom has been picking up fresh flowers some too, she loves them. I guess when you are home so much - anything that perks things up and makes you and your home feel alive is a good thing. Of course with Murph - your home could never feel boring and dead -right!!!! What am I doing - just knitting on Camp Loopy - I did venture a patriotic 4th weekend new start which really felt good. Cheers Mel
