In my last post, I left you with a quilting finish. That same evening I picked up my stitching and got to work. Here is my WIP at the point where I did a counting check. Sorry for the bad pics.
And here is my stitching at the end of the evening. Yep, I went to the frog pond. I was off by one stitch in the length of the border. I would have fudged it but I'm stitching each month of Anniversaries of the Heart on one piece of linen and they need to line up. I got caught up late last night so I'm back on track. It hurt at the time though.
Lesson Learned: Count Often. And Then Count Again.
While on vacation, I was able to finish the April block. No personalizations as yet but I do have a good idea what I'll be doing on this one.
A couple of weekends ago, my EGA chapter welcomed Ellen Chester of With My Needle for her Long May She Wave workshop (scroll down). It was my first formal workshop and I loved every second. Visit Ellen's blog for her retrospective . Ellen is just delightful and I would encourage you to take one of her workshops. The quality of the materials and instruction (both Ellen's during the workshop and the written instructions) are superb!
I have only 3 pictures because my camera battery died right off the back. The three photos are of show and tell items.
Carol's Stitched Project Bag - Front
I didn't get specifics on the project.
Stitched Project Bag - Back
Carol's Petit Carnet d'Ouvrages (Designer With My Needle)
Her group of stitching friends each stitched one page making this even more special.
It's tiny and oh so precious!
My project at the end of the workshop is pictured below. Not much progress as yet but I'm LOVING this! I'm thinking of finishing it with the slight alteration that Ellen suggested.

Have fun preparing for Thanksgiving~ I can't believe it's next week!!!
very beautiful stitching !
have a good day
Oh I just looooove your April block! I really should start this... Ouch on the frogging - I find that's happening more often as age advances, unfortunately :-) Glad you enjoyed the workshop, sounds like a great time.
Everything looks so lovely. Personally, I would never have done that frogging. Wouldn't bother me one bit if I was one stitch off when I finally put the blocks together. But whatever makes you happy!
The project bag and folding book are just so adorable and well-done. Your workshop piece looks like it will really be fun.
Your April block is so pretty Jackie. Sorry to hear about the frogs on the other block though.
Glad you enjoyed the workshop. Those pieces are just gorgeous.
love your stitches, so pretty
Bummer about the frogs, but your AotH is looking so pretty! I so want to do that piece all on one fabric too. The workshop with Ellen looks so great! And Carol's pieces -- wow! I love that bag she made! Double wow!
Your Anniversaries update is stunning :) I'm planning on restarting mine in January (fingers crossed) I had a false start with them, so I chucked it all and will restart soon!
Love your With My Needle envelope...it is gorgeous! And your new WIP from the workshop, I'm anxious to see more!
Your Anniversaries of the Heart is so beautiful Jackie! Don't you love stitching this series? The one you just finished is the one I am currently stitching except mine are on individual pieces of linen. Your stitching looks wonderful! The bag you shared is gorgeous!
Your April block is so, so pretty, Jackie--such soothing colors! So sorry the frog came to visit, but hopefully he's on his way to another pond for a long time :)
That bag of Carol's--wow!! How incredible and to have a bit of so many stitching friends work on it makes it so special!
Your new WIP looks so tiny and cute--looking forward to seeing it progress!
Every time I see AotH, i want to start on it. I love it and yours is beautiful!
Sorry you had to RIP but I know it will look wonderful when it's completed. Hey...guess what? I bought myself a Lil Twister tool and did a cute runner and was happy with my color placement. I'll show you a picture of it soon. Remember when I borrowed yours (and got to return it IN PERSON)???
Darn frogs! Your stitching projects are beautiful! And Carol's bag is as well. Thanks for sharing!
Jackie your class piece looks good - I'm so glad you enjoyed your first formal class. Of course you started with one of the best and now you are spoiled for life! your AoTH is looking beautiful - I am still on January - maybe I should join Vonna in a re-do and start again. (sigh) so much to stitch so little time - enjoy your weekend and your holiday and I hope to see you at guild - melody
Poor you, having had to unpick all those stitches. Very very brave!!
The April block is so very pretty. Love the colors.
Some beautiful projects by some very talented ladies!!
What a lovely hodge podge of stitching! Hope that frog stays away from here on in with AoTH. It's going to be such a lovely piece.
Oooh look at all that lovely sittchyness! I'm sorry to hear you had such a wretched visit from the frogs!!!!
Oh, Jackie! I love the stitching on the AotH; it's beautiful and I envy you the Ellen Chester project. She is SUCH a nice lady and I'm jonesin' for that patriotic piece that you can only get if you take one of her classes. You're so lucky!
Jackie your stitching is wonderful, love your projects.
Your stitching is beautiful!
This is gorgeous! This may have to be my next hobby! Keep sharing, I love to see your projects.
How beautiful! I remember doing counted cross-stitch and it is a bummer to be off a row. Great projects!
Love the April block, it's beautiful!
Have a happy Thanksgiving!
Oooo, that pesky frog! Glad you banished him! Congrats on your April finish. It's fabulous!
That project bag and the Carnet are wonderful projects. I love Ellen's designs and also stitched one of them, the bunny needleroll, but haven't doen the finishing yet.
Your Anniversaries shows nice progress in spite of the frogging. I'm going to start this next year as well, a SAL with a stitching friend and I'm already looking forward to it.
