First Framed Piece and Quilting Peek

I picked up the first piece I've had framed from the framers a week or so ago.

Close up of the frame. The fabric color is more accurate here than in the picture above.

Here is a peek of my 2010 $5 quilt in the process of assembly. I'm at the point now where I have hours of thread clipping and ironing in front of me. I decided I'm done with this for the weekend. Anyone who knows me, knows I hate to iron.

Here's a quick pic I took of Cody. He hates getting his picture taken. A second before he was sitting up pretty, looking right at me. A second after this picture, he'd taken off.

I'll most likely be taking a blog break. I started my new job this week and I have to give a presentation in Texas the week of the 14th. A one hour presentation on a topic on which I knew nothing about on the 1st. The yet to be created presentation I can handle, the questions I'm not sure about. So I'll probably have some late nights this week and possibly spend some time in the office over the weekend. While I won't be posting myself, I'll continue to read your blogs. I'm always so inspired by you! Happy stitches!

Your framed piece is terrific, Jackie. And I love the look of the quilt so far. I try to do all the ironing as I go (of the seams) so it isn't as overwhelming at the end! Good luck studying for your presentation...I know you'll do well.

You picked the perfect frame for your Jenny Bean piece! Just perfect! I'll bet you were thrilled to have it back. And your quilt looks just wonderful. I'm so envious of that applique!! I hear you on the ironing - I don't mind clipping threads, but I hate all that ironing!

Cute picture of Cody and what is it with those darned dogs. Bailey will do the same thing - he'll almost ham it up and then when I'm ready to shoot - he'll look away.

And good luck with your presentation. I don't envy you that procress.

Hallow Eden is Wonderful! I never noticed those starbursts before now--they are interesting, though. :D Glad to hear that you enjoyed a wonderful low-tech getaway. :) Also, congrats on your promotion.

Oh, Snow Garden is Beautiful! Def. one of my favorite anniversaries.

Jenny Bean is stunning framed! OOh, how wonderful! Also, your $5 quilt is a whole other beast with the sashing in between the blocks. :o (I think it's called sashing...)
I'm still dreaming of the day I frame my first piece; wonder what it should be! Good luck with your cram session and presentation.
