Chris's Scarf

Last year when I gave my oldest son Chris a Noro Striped Scarf, he asked for a black one. In the last couple of weeks, I finally finished it. The picture is really poor because I haven't mastered photographing black and it was dark.
Scarf for Chris
Chris had very definite ideas about the size of the stripes and the distance between them. He was really excited to get it (and wore it out of the house when he left even though he was wearing scrubs). Then he said the next one he wanted to be brown.

Next one? :) Thankfully he realizes he'll have to wait a year like he did for this one!

I'm glad I haven't made him a sweater!

Looks very warm! Doesn't it feel great when you make something that the recipient really loves? Should give you real incentive to make a brown one!

LOL good thing you didn't make a sweater. At least scarves are relatively quick. I love black and white scarves and this one looks great. I love/hate when the kids are so specific about what they want.

I love it! And I love how he just assumed you would zip another one out for him, no problem. lol! I swear, people who don't do these crafts just don't get it. :D It's great though -- I'm sure he'll love it to death!

Looks great Jackie and your photois good too. I love Noro and scarves - much easier than socks at this point for me, haha.

Congratulations on this finish, Jackie! Nice and warm for our cold weather here.
So Chris was wearing scrubs. I googled it, but don't really know what you mean with it. It does somehow remind me of my sister's boyfriend who wore the thick sweater she knitted for him when it was very hot outside (((o:
Good luck with the brown one.

The scarf is fantastic Jackie! Reminds me of the one that I made my son for Halloween the year he was Harry Potter. You joined your colors a lot better than I did.

Now you need to start working on another?? I think our kids sometimes think that all we have to do with our time is something for them. Which a lot of what we do does invovle that, we don't have magic wands. If we did we'd never have wrinkles! LOL. Don't say the wicked "S" word around him until you know you can fulfil the request! LOL

Nice! It turned out great (black really is hard to photograph isn't it?!)

Tis a double-edged sword when the recipients love handknits...looking forward to seeing the brown one, lol!

How nice to know you've made something he really likes! You should be pleased that he wants another. Very few of us - at least me - have a family member who appreciates our work. Or who doesn't think we're crazy for being obsessed over a craft (quilting, in my case). I'm happy for you!

Beautiful scarf, and a homemade sweater would go nicely with it, LOL.

What a nice scarf! Great colors for a guy. My sister loves to knit. I'd like to learn but right now I'm not sure where I'd find the time :)

A great scarf Jackie! I understand his saying the color for the next one...lol. I do that to my mother still too. :-) Just get the yarn and get started as he will keep asking about it otherwise. ;-)

Terrific scarf. Doesn't it feel good when our kids want us to make them something?

I love kids attitudes. They always seem to think that Moms, Dads, Uncles and Aunts can do anything.

A very nice warm looking scarf! Nice items you received at the Primitive Gatherings. Aren't retreats just the most fun ever!

Beautiful, Jackie! I love the b/w stripes. Cracking up at how kids think we just whip those things up in our free time. :)
