Happy Monday!

My work week started out kind of weird. I get to work and go to get out of the car. Something made me look down at my feet. It's a good thing I did!
Pulled back out of my good parking space and went home to get a shoe that matched one I was actually wearing. Thankfully, I wasn't that late for work!

I did get a chance this weekend to sew a bit. I worked on the latest installment of the Ravelry Quilters Knitting block of the month. This was an easy one and quick!
Here are all the blocks together on my cutting table.
I also had some time to knit and stitch this weekend. I'm finding that now that I have a sewing room and a chair in there that I'm spending a bit of time in there most evenings. It's been nice and a good stress reliever. I'm spending a little less time on the computer but that's not a bad thing. Greg came in and sat for a while yesterday while I was sewing.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to make sure I have matching shoes on before I leave the house! Thankfully, that was the worst part of the day and everything else went smoothly.

Happy Stitches!

Oh! That shoe thing happened to me once too, except I didn't know it until I was sitting in the front row of a parents' meeting at elementary school. I extended my legs, crossed at the ankles, and glanced down to see I was wearing one a navy dress shoe and one black dress shoe! When I saw two mothers down the row glance at me and begin giggling I had to go home to change. Mortifying!

I found it SO funny about your shoes!!! I had to force myself to pay attention to the rest of your post as the shoes had me laughing so hard!!! Nice block, though....and that sampler quilt will look wonderful.

Jackie, That is too funny about the shoes! Sounds like something I would do! Good thing you noticed before you went inside! I love your blocks on your cutting table. It's going to be a beautiful quilt! Glad you're enjoying your sewing room.

P.S. I figured out the ric rac situation and am really excited with how this quilt is coming together. I'm almost done with the top. Just gotta figure out the borders!

Oh Jackie, you crack me up. Nothing a lot of us haven't done before, but quite the surprise when you notice it, huh. Glad you weren't to late for work. Your blocks are just beautiful, I love the colors you are using, I think you're doing a superb job, keep it up. I have been quilting for a while and I still have issues with points, I'm getting better, but it's not easy. I found a sewing awl is helping me to get things matched up better, i have a lot of arthritis and so the method i was taught to get them matched up doesn't work so well for me, the awl is quick to because i don't have to pin. you might look into it. have a good rest of the work week and may all your shoes match.

Anyway, I love all your blocks! Gorgeous stuff! Glad you're enjoying your new stitching room. Nice that Greg can come in and join you too. Hopefully it's good companionship! :D

Oh, Jackie that is too funny. I did that one day and didn't catch it. The next day everyone showed up in unmatched shoes.
Love your quilt. I bet your sewing room is awesome. I agree less time on the computer is a good thing.
Have a good week.

You know what the shoe thing means...your mind is going to many directions...especially when you didn't realize one was a shoe and one was a sandle/ open toed! LOL I think we've all been there in one way or another. :)

Gorgeous quilt blocks, Jackie! ROFLOL about the shoes! Last summer I bought my usual black slide on loafers (that my daughters roll their eyes upon seeing due to their lack of style... but they're very comfortable!), packed them in the bags, and went to put them on when I got back to Ireland. It was then that I realized that I bought two shoes for my LEFT foot. Two shoes. One foot. My mother came to the rescue. LOL

The block looks great. The quilt is really working up nicely.

I would have laughed it off and spent the day in mis-matched shoes. Nobody ever accused me of being a perfectionist!

Oh Jackie...I have had days when I didn't look at my feet and got to work with two different shoes on. Luckily I keep a pair of sneakers at work! It's nice to know we're not alone....

You know your mind is elsewhere when you wear two different shoes to the office!

I'm glad I haven't done that -- I have a 45 minute commute!

Ikea, I was going to ask about that table but someone helped me out! I'm not close to Ikea, I wonder if they ship? You must have been deep in thought about something when you put on those shoes, open toe versus closed.....you weren't even close! A good laugh for they day,THANKS!

Oh yes, the shoe thing. Have done that a couple times. Have also gone out with a sweatshirt inside out.
Glad to see you are enjoying your sewing room. Your projects are looking s beautiful as ever.

Jackie--the same thing happened to me once with two different shoes. Unlike you, I never noticed it, but my co-worker sure did! Luckily, it was a Saturday and my husband could run the matching shoe over to me at work! I've done the same thing with earrings, too, and never realized until I got home that night and looked at myself in the mirror...

Love the quilt layout :)

The shoe story was a hoot! Glad you caught it in time! The blocks are looking really great!

The mismatching shoes are so wonderfully hilarious! That made my day. Very glad you noticed it before going into work though ;)

I was in a benefit style show once and when I did a costume change and went back out to show the new outfit I noticed I had two different shoes on...they almost matched and I hoped nobody else but me noticed and kept on going.

what a way to start the week Jackie - having to go back home and change URGHHHH - think I would have just stayed there but I know you are SO dedicated to your job. The quilt blocks are beautiful. Thanks for the kind comments about my A&E rug. Mel

Okay, I don't mean to chuckle here, but I had to laugh at your shoes! I did that one time and just about died, and couldn't go home to get the right pair. Luckily I worked in a building that had a shoe store and I walked right in there and bought a new pair of shoes right away! The sales people had a great laugh out of me!

Your blocks are looking wonderful!

I love it! I've done that with shoes before. A couple of my friends have too, so you are in "good" company!!! Your blocks are wonderful!! I'm so glad you have such a great space to sew in. I can't imagine my husband coming into my sewing room and sitting down!

OMG at least you saw it before you worked all day. Couldn't you imagine your chagrin if you'd noticed coming home???

You are making great progress with your quilt blocks.
Really funny story about your shoe, hope the rest of the week goes well.

Teresa said...

LOL...I have done that, although my shoes were the same style, just different colors. I just told everyone I had another pair just like them at home.

The blocks look great!

That is so funny! A coworker of mine did that once and went the whole day with mismatched shoes. I had a similar experience...I had my shirt on inside out and went shopping. The clerk and other shoppers must have thought I was deranged and no one said anything! So embarrassing.

That shoe thing happened to one of my co-workers. It was funny. Unfortunately she lived one hour away from the office.

Using the pre-printed paper made it quite easy. I am looking forward to seeing the end result
