I've had a chance to get some projects framed. They've been hung too after a couple of weeks of hanging out in my sewing room. First up is this Brenda Keyes piece that was a SAL with my EGA chapter. You can find my details on this sampler HERE. It's called Country House sampler and I fell I love with it when Tanya from The Scarlet House posted her version on FB. It was in a grouping of sampler pics and she graciously gave me the information. I personalized this one with my name which is why you see the black blob.
This one is A Pennsylvania Alphabet by the Goode Huswife. This is not one that Anne has reprinted as yet and is rather hard to find. Thanks to a generous friend who lent me her copy! You can find my details on this project HERE. I did change the thread colors. This project is special in that it saved my sanity when my dad fell and had surgery/was in rehab. Every stitch was stitched at his hospital bedside or with my mom who has dementia. It was a long and stressful 2 months but I was blessed to spend time with them and help take care of them. Do you have any projects that take you back to a specific time in your life or to a certain event?
The close ups of the frames indicate a good dusting is needed! If I do that and retake the pictures, this blog post would never get made. Ever feel that way yourself?
We had a great Thanksgiving and I hope you did too! May all your stitches be happy ones!

Love the frame moldings that you selected for each piece, Jackie! I really like the colors you used in the Pennsylvania Sampler. Enjoy your week!
Absolutely lovely.
Both are so pretty.
I love Brenda Keyes Samplers, they are all so beautiful.
What is your next project?

So lovely!!
Oh Jackie, they are just gorgeous!
Beautiful framed projects, love them.
Beautiful Samplers Jackie! Well done!
Lovely work Jackie. I absolutely love the Brenda Keyes sampler...it is gorgeous! Your frame choices are so pretty too. Great job! RJ@stitchingfriendsforever
Jackie your COuntry House sampler is so gorgeous framed and the PA Alphabet framing is just perfect also. It's so good to have things framed and hanging. Hope you are enjoying the last days of November - Mel
These are both so lovely, Jackie! I love the Country House so much and why I haven't stitched a Brenda Keyes piece yet, is beyond me! I so love her designs. And how nice that you were lent the chart for the hard to find Goode Huswife design... It looks perfect in that frame.
I'm glad your stitching helped save your sanity with your parents' health issues. How is your mom doing? I know how hard it is to watch a parent slip away from dementia--simply heartbreaking.
Hard to believe December is just around the corner, but I hope you have a great month, Jackie--and make many happy memories :)
Oh my gosh, truly wonderful to have them framed...just wonderful
Two pretty framed samplers, Jackie! And yes, stitching can be a sanity saver - I do have several pieces that have a lot of memories associated with them, and I can remember very vividly what was going on while I was working on them. I dust once in a blue moon - it seems to be a losing battle. : )
Your stitches are gorgeous, Jackie!
2 Beautiful projects that are beautifully framed. I especially love the color combo of the PA Sampler and the Keyes stitch is stunning! I don't have any stitches that remind me of any specific occasion in my life. I think that must be a good thing because I can understand how your stitching saved your sanity while caring for your parents.
