G & I got back late last night from a few days in the Smoky Mountains. We had a great time...not as much hiking as we would have liked as the weather turned rainy. This is the third November that we've taken this trip. Here's some pics of the cabin we rented:
This is the best part and the main criteria of a place we stay - a fireplace in the bedroom. I get so cold and this really helps. This year was much warmer until the last couple of days when it was raining. Those days were spent reading, knitting, stitching and just hanging out with each other. It was nice to relax and recharge.
I'm off today and tomorrow as well. C moved out while we were gone - it is time for him to have his own space. He's accomplished what he intended when he moved back 4 years ago. I'm going to use his room as a space of my own. I need to get paint picked out and the room ready for painting. Everything after that will move slowly with the holidays coming. I don't have a space plan for the room but am excited about moving out of the dining room! Ideas about space planning and organization will greatly be appreciated! In the meantime, I'm going to use the next two days to do what I call "piddle". To me that means doing a whole lot of the things I want to do sprinkled in with a little bit of what I have to do or should do. Gotta keep that relaxed and refreshed feeling as long as I can, right?!

Sounds like you and your husband had a wonderful vacation Jackie. the cabin looks beautiful and cozy. Glad you got a lot of needlework time and the park photos are great. This is also our favorite place to relax and recharge - we've been vacationing in this area for almost 30yrs. Hope to see you soon! Mel
What a terrific cabin you had. And...how nice that you will be getting your own sewing space!!! Can't wait to see it as it progresses.
Your trip sounds wonderful, especially the rain part and staying inside where it's cozy. The cabin is very nice...not like any "cabin" I've ever stayed in!! Glad you had a good time and hope you enjoy your two days off too!
I have been to the Smokey Mountains, and it is enchanting! I loved the pics!

The Smokyies are great aren't they? Someday, hopefully in the not so distant future we will be living in that area opposed to the cold white north. Your cabin looks like it was lovely.
What a lovely post. You must have had a great time, even though the weather wasn't that good.
How great is that, to get your own room. You will get so much more accomplished.
Good luck 'piddling'!
Can you imagine living in and around the smoky mountains as I do? I'm so lucky!
I just adore the Smokies and haven't been there in just too long. The views, I love them so much. I'm definitely a Smoky Mountain girl, not a lake / beach girl. Could easily be happy living there if my family were there too.
What a lovely cabin, I know now why you are so rested...it is just the perfect getaway!!
Such a magical place. I hope you feel rejuvenated!
I enjoyed coming to visit your blog. Enjoy your Bernina. They are the best!!

It looks fabulous where you were and where you stayed.
Looks like a beautiful place and I'm so glad you had a good time. I'm sure you'll have that new room filled with quilting/sewing stuff in no time.
Your vacation spots are always so pretty and refreshing.
Love these pics of the Smokies! DH and I will be visiting there next spring. Your post makes me more excited for the trip now!
I love a Fireplace... Everyone looks so cozy and beautiful!
