My new sewing space - a small bedroom - has a new color. For me, it is different. The rest of my house is warm colors and this is a cool one. I don't wear pastels. Something about the color is very calming though. I hope that I don't change my mind! G would not be happy!
Saturday, I was convinced I'd have the carpet torn up and laminate laid. Today I'm not so sure. The carpet in there is in good shape. It may have to be converted back to a bedroom one day. Installation is expensive ($500) and Greg really isn't that handy. We'd have to buy a saw actually. I'm still thinking about it.
Furniture color is next. I think I've decided against a Horne cabinet. I can get so much more elsewhere and I really don't need my machine inset. I do know that I want to accent the room with white, black and silver/gray. A black sewing table seems to be too dark to me. I don't think birch or cherry would look right so I'm leaning towards white though I must admit it's not my favorite. It seems to fit the paint color. What do you think? As you can tell, I truly struggle with decorating decisions!
Progress made on Quakers and Quilts. I'm not done with the first chart but will be soon. I'm still enjoying it. LHN Neighborhood is still in the closet. If you're like my friend Jeannine, there is a pecking order for projects. In the closet is not at the top of the hierarchy! Hopefully soon!

Speaking of Jeannine, check out this post on her blog. In our quest to be the perfect knitter, stitcher, quilter, etc we often lose the point. Her post spoke to me & I hope it does to you too!
Happy Stitches!

I have white furniture in my sewing space...mostly because it is my granddaughters' bedroom when they visit...and their furniture is white in there. SO...I got a white sewing cabinet and also needed some of the white plastic drawers (on wheels) since I have to take my sewing stuff out of there when the kids come to visit.....so white cabinet it was and I'm happy with it. Seems kind of "crafty" to me to have it be white!!! I like the color of your room, too.
Beautiful color you chose, Jackie! It will be a happy place to create!
Hi Jackie,
I love your color! I have very similar in the guest bedroom that is like my second sewing room since my frame is in there and no bed! :) One of the things i love with the color is that is changes during the day! White really looks nice against it but I think light wood like oak will be nice too!
Enjoy your sewing room!

I think you've made a great choice with your colour!
Oooh--I love that color, Jackie! Perfect for Florida, too...
I think the carpet looks very nice in there. Save the money you would spend on laminate and put it toward stash :)
Nice, very nice! I think white furniture would keep it light and airy...and maybe add silver or chrome handles to contrast a little. Why not buy a decorative rug to add some spice to the room??!! That's what I did, and it finished the room off perfectly. I am in the middle of renovating my craft room, so I just went through all this decorating decision dilemmas...hate those DDDs...LOL! Good Luck Jackie...I am sure whatever you decide will turn out beautifully!
Have a great Thanksgiving!
HAPPY STITCHIN'

To me the colour you chose is just perfect. And I know that I'd love white furniture with it. The white doors look so beautiful with this new colour.
This is a beautiful color for a sewing room. Mine is apple green. I like the brightness. I think white would be perfect for a sewing table in this room. I wouldn't want carpet though, because I spill too many pins and needles, but that's just me. I used to sew on carpet that was from the 70s (shag). That was awful. Yours looks very pretty though.
The color is gorgeous!
I am so jealous that you get a craft room. I also love the color of the walls.
Your color choice is very exciting- definitely not the run of the mill color. I think white would look great but if you are too keen on it - then a very light blonde wood would probably work - Enjoy your new space WHOOOOO - Mel
Hey Jackie, love the color!!!!!I like the idea of white in the room. You seem to be having the same thoughts I am having on things to do and then deciding that maybe I should re-think along the more practical lines(doesn't make me wonder if I would have liked the new cabinet or table). I like the choices you make and it is a wise women who thinks of things as that, at least I was told that by a fellow artistian. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.Hugs, Marie
Great progress on your stitching! I like the new room color--very soothing.
That's what came to my mind directly, when I saw the picture of your room: calm. Very very pretty!
Your stitching is so pretty too! Lovely colors!
Nice choice of color for your room. What about a light maple wood? I actually thought of a maple night table I finished a zillion years ago when I saw your colors. Mind you, I have no decorating ability. I tend to just go with what feels right to me...
Thanks for sharing Jeannine's post. Very thought provoking.
hi Jackie, I'm in the process of well soon to be in the process of painting my studio - we still need to get the drywallers in, LOL but soon. I love how you decided on your colour options for your studio - and the final choice I think will be great - it will be nice to see how your finish the decoration witht hat perfect blue on the walls.
