Yesterday, I was invited to lunch and to stitch with the Sampler Guild. There were 5 of us who met at the Olde Green Cupboard and stitched the afternoon away....well at least when we weren't chatting, sharing, or shopping! Everyone is so talented and nice! I, however, somehow managed to not take any pictures of the lovely projects everyone was working on. I worked on my Little House Neighborhood that I just barely started. Melody gave me the pattern and Teresa helped me cut the fabric last weekend. I don't have the silks yet for the border so I started on the house on the top row. There are some wobbly stitches here and there. I'm a beginner and will improve and that's part of the fun! I'm not sure of the color of the chimneys, I might change them later.
I just burst with excitement when Henri gave me the chart for a project that I've just been drooling over. It's out of print and I could not find it anywhere. It's one she has stitched already and hers is just stunning. She gave me a really good tip, which I'll share with you after I get started. I'm going to gather the fabric and thread for it soon. After all, I have to have multiple projects going on at the same same time to be a good stitcher, don't I?
Last week was this months Moda Maniacs gathering at Calico Station. Pam shared some of her market stories and let us know what was coming. Good Stuff. At each Moda Maniacs meeting there are giveaways. This week I won one of them! I won the Moda bag they got at market. This thing is HUGE. It doesn't look like it here in the picture, but a 2 year old could sit in it. Easily. I think this is a sign that I need more fabric!

We're having one of those rare mornings in Florida when you can turn the air conditioner off. It's also very sunny. For me, this is perfect weather! I'm not sure if we'll be able to keep the air conditioner off all day, but for now I'm enjoying every single minute of it. I hope your day is wonderful as well! Happy Stitches!

Congrats on your win!!! sounds like you are keeping very busy. Here we leave our windows open all the time...and I love it but....only because there is no central air. If we had central air, my husband would have it on regardless. Enjoy the freshness.
What a BAG!!! I like your house stitchery, too.
Your stitches look great! I love the sampler design you are working on. Congrats on winning the bag! the fabric is lovely.
tee hee... already got you with the multiple stitching wips....
Congratulations...the bag is lovely! Your weather sounds wonderful...hope you were able to enjoy it.
Your stitching is so perfect!!! I'm glad you had fun with your sewing buddies. I wish I could find some near me. I really don't know anyone who really sews around here.
Congrats on your win...the bag is just lovely!

Oh, you houses project is so pretty. I dug out an unfinished Santa stitchery that needs a bit to finish. I started it several years ago.
Open windows, how lovely. We are cold and raining. The snow will be here in a few weeks. Time to snuggle in for some serious sewing and crafting. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
Lovely stitchery! Enjoy the new bag and fill it up! :)

Hi Jackie, nice win!
I love your house block, so you quilt, and knit and do cross stitch - how nice and well rounded you are and Yes most definitely you have to have more then one or 3 projects going on at the same time!!
What kind of silks are you bringing into for your borders? I'm going to be carrying quilters (dupioni) silks very shortly they will be shipping here from India if you are interested!!

I'm a firm believer in the philosophy that you can never have too many Tote Bags. And that sounds like a great bag. I love the colors. So what does the layout of the cross-stitched house project look like. You mentioned silks and I just curious. Good Work!
I just love the Little House, Jackie! Anything that "wobbles" will just add character! Great bag you won, too - more to carry fabric home with! Can't wait to see you new project - and yes, you MUST have more than one project going at a time - LOL!
Cheers!
Jackie I'm so glad you had a good time at sampler guild - sometimes a small intimate group is nice. that way you can hear and participate in all the conversations and not miss anything LOL. I think your house is looking good and yes - you need as many WIP as you feel good about - no limits except your own. Lucky you winning that wonderful Moda collectible bag from market. Enjoy Mel
