I realized after my last post that I forgot to post a picture of my nieces sweater in progress. So here it is: Knitting Pure and Simple Children's Neck Down Bolero. I think she'll love it! I haven't gotten much further with this - work is literally kicking my butt. I can't tell you how much I love the feel of this yarn!
Over the weekend, my LQS had a scrap sale. 2 pounds of scraps for $5. Lots of the pieces were almost fat quarter sized. I picked up some solid black Michael Miller fabric that I've heard everyone rave about. It was a lot of fun - lots of us standing and sorting through tables of scraps, laughing and talking and passing on fabric you knew someone was looking for. Here is a sampling of the 3 pounds I picked up.
As I mentioned, working is ramping up and I've taken on more responsibilities, which I do enjoy. But the time lines are tighter and it's taking more of my time. My free time. I seriously need to check and see if the lottery ticket in my wallet is a winner! I need to be able to take an early retirement, pay my bills, and support my fiber habits! Does anyone else have any ideas on how I can make this work?!

Get you a rich sugar daddy.....HA!!! only kidding....or am I????
The pink is gorgeous!
I'm glad the customers are so well-behaved at your LQS. One of my favorite shops has a Super Bowl Sale every year and there is jostling and elbows galore!
Sounds like fun to be able to buy scraps like that!
The sweater is going to be adorable, Jackie! And I've never heard of a scraps sale - gosh - I'll have to keep my eye out for those - there are only a dozen scrap-style quilts I want to make!
Now for your early retirement plan, I can tell you what not to do(invest in the stock market right now) and my only other suggestion is buy more lottery tickets - LOL!
Cheers!
Hi Jackie!
Thanks for visiting my blog and for your comment! It looks like your doing an amazing job with the quilting having just started a few months ago! WOW!
I'm super jealous of your "beach weather" -- we're still cold up here in RI though it's supposed to be 50s this weekend. I shoulda been a FL girl! ;)
:)S
When you find out the answer to that one, Jackie, please let me know!
That wool looks luscious and you really got some lovely scraps at your LQS sale. It's so much fun looking through scrap bins. I think we must be sick....
Put me on the list of folks to notify when you find the way to retire and live in luxury!!! LOL LOVE that wool...please be sure to show us the finished project.
Lucky you to got such a lovely pile of scraps! :) I love that pink sweater for your niece!
Hugs,
Zlaty
Scrap sale? You may not retire yet, but sounds like you found heaven.
The bolero is going to be so pretty. I love Knitting Pure And Simple patterns.
As for retirement...invest in a palette of Rubbermade Storage Containers for your yarn and fabric stash. Then plan on an addition to the house. Keep buying lottery tickets:)
I think that you started out well with actually buying the lottery ticket...which is something I need to go out to do right now. If I win do you want to split the winnings? Then we can pay people to finish the rest of the stuff on your list.
hopeful,
Monica
