Squash House Mail & Quakers and Quilts Start

I've started Quakers and Quilts. Progress is slow but I'm enjoying it! I'm about 1/2 way through the first page of the chart. I'm using the called for fabric and thread. Fun!
Last week, I won a contest that Candace of Squash House Quilts was having. Yesterday my package arrived. Full of goodies! Can you guess what is missing from the photo? Chocolate of course! Everyone knows that chocolate is the most necessary of all food groups, right?!

My photos are not the best so please forgive me. It gets dark too early for this blogger to take pictures after work. I didn't want to wait until the weekend to share.
Candace is so generous. She sent a jelly roll and charm pack of Rouenneries fabric. I love red and I'm going to enjoy this fabric! I'd been looking at it online.
She also sent these adorable little salt and pepper shakers! Perfect!
And a pattern for Christmas!
Candace, thank you so much for your generosity! I love it all!

It's kind of freaking me out that Thanksgiving is next week and Christmas is just around the corner. I've got to get organized and get busy. Time does seem to fly and another holiday season is upon us. I'm going to try and address Christmas cards (if I can remember to pull them out) and start making lists soon. What does "soon" mean? Probably not soon enough. Does everyone else promise themselves that they'll get it together next year and when next year rolls around they're not any better off? Please tell me I'm not alone! :)

My last post title is "AAAAEEEIIiiiii".... or something like that. I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week!!! Help! I can't even begin to know how I'll get everything done, but somehow I always seem to manage. I wonder what would happen if I don't do some of the things I think I have to do. Hum?

You're not alone! Every year I say this is the year when I will be organised, but then life happens, and every year on Christmas Eve I am saying "next year I will be organised".

Congratulations on your wonderful win! Love those pepper and salt turkeys. We don't celebrate Thanksgiving here, but I love seeing it on the different blogs.
Your cross stitch is getting along perfectly.
So what will you be doing with Thanksgiving?

Great start, Jackie! Love the gift, too--what nice stuff!

I have to say that your mentioning addressing Christmas cards has my heart racing... I haven't even thought that far yet here it is, the 18th already. I swear it feels like it was just January a minute ago!

I am so thankful for our blogging friendshop and to see alll the neat things you do, your quilting and knitting and etc. Congrats on the winning. It seems that when Oct. rolls around the days get shorter and we get not nearly finished what we we ould like to. Have a beautiful week and a Blessed Thanksgiving. HUgs, Marie

Jackie I LOVE Q&Q - can't wait to see it in person next weekend at sampler guild. WOW - what a gift - love the jelly roll - I am fascinated with those things. I'm opting out of christmas this year - sorta - we're not doing much -just decorating a little, eating a lot and having fun with friends and family. Enjoy! Mel

What a wonderful Goodie bag you got! The colors are gorgeous... I'm dreading the tree this year... we have no where to put one and I need to get to work on Christmas cards.. I never expect too much if I plan things they never work out..hehe!

That is so exciting! Great prize. I love your Quakers and Quilt stitchery. Maybe one day I'll do one of those. They sing to me, but I haven't done one like that!

P.S. I like where you're going with your color choices for your sewing room. Can't wait to see what you did with it! Good luck! That is so fun to be getting it done just the way you want it!

YYou made a nice start on Quakers and Quilts.
And I love your new stash. Those jelly rolls are fantastic and I'd like to buy one myself if I found a supplier here.
