I have been doing my own for about a year and though I'm not always happy with it, I do too many quilts to have them quilted for me. I have found that I do better when my meandering is confined within a square. I also try to match my thread really well so the blunders aren't as obvious. The machinger gloves are a necessity. Smaller projects are much easier since you aren't fighting the weight of the quilt. I too would love the BSR but can't justify the price. Keep us posted with any helpful hints.Bettyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06889518100132887182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5946103414362414928.post-46984497313361219082009-09-02T22:13:18.737-04:002009-09-02T22:13:18.737-04:00Wow Jackie...I think your FMQ looks great!Wow Jackie...I think your FMQ looks great!Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15688785042826378058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5946103414362414928.post-5560239090037190752009-09-02T18:43:32.019-04:002009-09-02T18:43:32.019-04:00For just a test drive I think you did fantastic wi...For just a test drive I think you did fantastic with the BSR, Jackie! Even though I've used it for several years now, unless you use it consitently, there will always be a learning curve, which is why I practice on scraps if I haven't used it in a while!<br />Cheers!Candacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15520872958009985226noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5946103414362414928.post-80873584713144140932009-09-02T09:51:18.187-04:002009-09-02T09:51:18.187-04:00Thanks for writing a blog about sewing! Thanks for writing a blog about sewing!Lorishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17925679104297021211noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5946103414362414928.post-78899376210644086462009-09-01T09:08:59.017-04:002009-09-01T09:08:59.017-04:00I will join the chorus of compliments and say I th...I will join the chorus of compliments and say I think you are doing great. I am like you - still learning this but I get so frustrated with the tension on the back side of the quilt not being right. I too have trouble telling where I have quilted, resulting in crossovers.Teresahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09077658139465236292noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5946103414362414928.post-44725887820219925892009-09-01T07:24:19.899-04:002009-09-01T07:24:19.899-04:00Check out the Pfaff 4.0 Expression...the built in ...Check out the Pfaff 4.0 Expression...the built in walking foot and free motiong quilting is incredible. I haven't tried FMQ yet and was interested in the BSR too.
