Longtime Gone Quilt

I've been very slowly working on Jen Kingwell's LongTime Gone BOM quilt. I joined the BOM last year and you know how that goes!  I had the best of intentions!  The BOM included fabric and they are super scrappy.  Very much outside my comfort zone and I can't say I haven't completely given up on trying to make things look planned.  The fabric selection, however, is so scrappy and diverse that I've had to give much of that up.    Here is my progress so far:
Untitled Untitled Untitled Untitled UntitledUntitled
Murphy has settled in nicely.  He is beyond spoiled but just look at that face!  He loves to ride in the car, bark, lick and play.  He's just turned 5 months old and is doing well with training.

I hope all your stitches are happy ones!
Happy Mothers Day!

look at that big boy riding in the basket - posing for his photo opp and being still for 2 seconds - HOW FUN! he is sure A-dorable! WOW - the quilt is so cool Jackie. I see lots of fun elements in those blocks but that's why I'm not a quilter because I would simply analyze to death what fabric to put next to what fabric. The only creative freedom I allow myself is rug hooking otherwise my needlework world is very regimented - this color goes here and that color goes there. I very rarely ever change a single color in a chart. I am getting pretty brave about changing linen colors. Hope you had a great Mothers Day ! Mel
