Out of Deep Hibernation

I do have one goal for 2015.  I want to finish Anniversaries of the Heart!  I'm quite sure I didn't pull this one out for more than a minute in 2014.  I've already made serious progress in 2015 and stitched the November block.  Three more to go and ALL of the personalization (which isn't planned out yet). I can do it!

I have been on an organizational frenzy lately.  It's not like we're unorganized but it was time to go through and look at everything in closets, drawers and cabinets with a critical eye and neaten and donate.  It feels good.  That said, I really haven't moved that thought into the sewing room BUT I did manage to find this BBD stocking that has been on a "field trip" for some time!

I've also been stitching ornaments for the Christmas tree.  I want next years tree to have more than 2  stitched ornaments on it. Should I change the date on that?

I've started a new knitting project - a mystery knit along called Follow Your Arrow 2.  I enjoyed that last year and will share more about this on another post.

For me, 2015 has started out feeling like a time of refreshment and renewal.   How does it feel to you?  I hope it has been good to you so far and that all your stitches have been happy ones!

Like your stocking! I wouldn't change the year. Looking forward to seeing your new knitting project.

While the year starts off fresh, it still feels like I am on that speeding train from 2014.

Oh Anniversaries of the Heart is an epic project... I know... it took me over two years to finish mine. It is definitely a pick it up and put it down project, but so worth it. I left the personalization till the end too, and found out I didn't have a ton of family dates to put on it, so I added sayings about home to fill in some of the blank spots. Happy stitching-- you can do it!

I'm in my last semester of nursing school so this year feels busy and irritating so far:) I haven't cross-stitched in years, and back then I thought you were only supposed to use aida cloth. What is that cloth you're stitching on - linen? It's so pretty. Makes me want to pick it up again.

LOVE that you are working on this again! It's so gorgeous Jackie. Yes leave the year stitched on your pretty stocking. I've been cleaning, sorting, organizing my scrapbook stash since this last Tuesday! Feels great! love Annette

You can do it Jackie! Nothing like a fresh start.

Sometimes it's fun to pick up those dormant projects and get to work on them. Anniversaries of the Heart is just to big to do all at once. And there's no hurry. I agree that you can just keep the date as is on the stocking. Both pieces are so pretty.. they would definitely inspire me to give them the time they deserve!

Wish I had your inclination to purge. Having trouble over-coming pack-rat-itis!

I am just like Mouse, I have the charts but have never begun AOTH. Oh but I will. Two large projects to finish before that this year though.

Oh my gosh, you are going to torture me with AOTH! I have the charts, have most of the floss even. Sigh. Yours is looking so gorgeous! Love the stocking too! I admire your organizing and cleaning too. Good for you!

Doesn't it always feel create to organize, and sometimes even purge?

Glad you've gone back to Anniversaries. It sounds like you don't have to much more to do. Perhaps I can see it in person the next time I'm down your way.

I would leave the date on the little stocking. Why change it - that is the year you stitched it - so cute ! yes my goal is to have more ornaments done at the end of 2015. I am almost finished with my first one of 2015. I'm doing the LHN/CCN "ornament a month challenge" with Vonna on FB. She is such a great motivator and inspiration. YGG on your AoTH - it is a beautiful piece - YES YOU an do it!!! have a great week - Mel

Jackie, your AoTH looks great. I hope you get this finished this year. You can do it!

Your stocking looks great. Leave the date in I think.

You are going to be busy this year with all those goals and working and family. I am starting to get the refreshed and renewal idea, I usually can't start in Jan, it's a hard month for me to be motivated after all the hustle and bustle of the holidays and so I hibernate and then try to get going again. I think I'm ready!! Hugs!!

Good for you for dragging AotH out. I've been thinking about mine but am seriously blocked about how to personalize it but I am only 4 blocks in. You're way ahead of me. Love you stocking ornie too. I'd leave the date as is. I'm not sure what this year is. It still feels like I am unsuccessfully trying to catch up. Maybe it's the year of it all not letting me stress out? I foresee a lot of changes this year so...it is what it is. :) Glad to see some stitchy stuff on your blog!

Good for you for picking up Anniversaries again, Jackie! I am really bad about not going back to large projects after I've stopped so that is why I stick to small things that I know I'll finish :)

The stocking is so pretty and I would definitely leave the date on! Wishing you luck on having more stitched ornaments this year--you can do it!!

Beautiful stitching. I would keep the date as it is.

What a lovely piece and a great near finish. I think I would change the date and have it reflect the date you finished it.

Anniversaries of the heart is in my wishlist...love that design, hope you'll work on it more often, love to see your updates with it, as well as stitching for ornaments. Goodluck!

I need to do a bit of organising too. The Anniversaries of the Heart design is really lovely and very nearly finished and I also like the stocking design, pretty colours.

The Anniversaries are a great ongoing project here, too. But I'm not as far as you are, I have only stitched 5 of them so far. But I want to add some more this year. Yours will be finished soon, you will see.
Stitching all the BBD stockings has always been on my mind as well but only when I finish the Anniversaries.

During the winter I am never in an organizing and decluttering mood. BUt when spring is here I want to renew everything. I am already looking forward to that. Have fun with your organizing.

`Anniversaries of the Heart` looks delightful. Do you know where I can get the rest of the pattern as only have the first two, hence I haven`t started this. Happy Stitching.
