ReWork To Make It Work (or Work a Bit Better)

Today I spent some time on a quilt I talked about here.  It was either the 2nd or 3rd quilt I ever started.  I've got the rows together.  I see I sewed one on in reverse and will need to fix that because there are too many of the same purple fabric in the same area.  I'm glad I pushed through and didn't trash it.  I'll also be quilting this one myself but I'm not sure I'll be doing that real soon.

Next up is to decide if I'm going to border it and if so, which fabric.  Right now it's about 64" square.  What do you think?
Border or no border?
Darker or lighter fabric?
The other fabric will go on the back.

Have a great week and may all your stitches be happy ones!

Beautiful finish, Jackie! I'd vote for a darker border myself. Although it looks great as is too. Aren't I a big help? lol!

Beautiful finish and love that purple. I'd say go with a border and use the darker fabric - lighter would just be washed out I think. Isn't it great to have a finish!! Hugs

Darker border to frame it. =)

You can quilt it! When i have quilts like this, I tend to quilt each square one at a time and let each square tell me how it wants to be quilted. Or, I do an all over quilt design. Usually a straight line type of design.

I look foreword to seeing what you come up with! It is really lovely!

Very pretty quilt Jackie! I like the darker border myself. I think it highlights the other darker pinks and purples!!

So lovely. If you want a more traditional quilt, you could add a border. If you want it done, just be done : )

Great finish on the quilt Jackie! I like both fabrics for the border but think the darker one pops more.

I really like this. I would skip the border, but do the binding in the darker fabric.

Such lovely colours, great finish. I too vote for the darker one as border.

Beautiful quilt. I'm for darker borders too. I think a consensus is building.

Very, very nice. My 15 year old daughter was just here and she said she likes your colors! =)
Yes to a border and yes to darker pink.

Love the quilt! I would go without a border, but make the binding in a dark color to help frame the quilt. Those colors are luscious!

Love this quilt! If I had to choose between the two border fabrics, I'd choose the darker one! BUT, if I could choose any of the beautiful fabrics in your quilt for the border, I'd really like to see the border done in the purple shade bordering the top left block of the quilt! Either way, lovely work!

Since this quilt LOOKS modern, with all that white, and since I prefer modern, I would say "no borders." It will be interesting to see if you give in to the traditional side of your preferences. :-) Ha, ha!

Another vote for the darker border, Jackie, but borderless would be fine, too :) Your colors in this one are so pretty--especially love the block on the left in the middle row!

Very cute girly quilt. Is it for one of your nieces?

Not just to be contrary, I think no border and a light binding would focus on the nine squares. What do I know, I don't quilt.

Love the colors.

Hi Jackie

What a treat to see another of your beautiful quilts in progress! I like many of the others favor the darker border. Hope you'll let us know what you decide to do.

On knitting, I'm full of advice! But this is just gut feeling...and I like the darker border. Very elegant quilt...can't wait till it's done and keeping folks warm.

I really like it! The colors really speak to me. I would probably vote for the darker border too. (And I swear I didn't look at the other comments before I came to that decision. lol)
