More $5 Quilt

I managed to finish my last two pieced blocks for 2010 $5 Quilt from my quilt shop. They need to be pressed. These came together quickly because I'd already had them cut out. I have the four setting triangles for the corners of the quilt to piece and then I'll be done with the blocks and can begin assembly. The pattern calls for the setting triangles to be pieced with background fabrics and they are rather plain. I think I'm going to add some applique to them.

My latest knitting project is probably going to be ripped back to almost the beginning. I have almost 200 yards knit but I don't mind ripping it back. It's a quick knit and I really enjoy the process.

It's supposed to be 86 here tomorrow so I expect our air conditioning will be turned on for a few days. I imagine it won't be long before it's running 24/7. We put in a new a/c unit last fall but I wouldn't mind not using it! It looks like spring is still a short lived season here in Florida.

Thank you all for visiting and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! Happy Stitches!

Summer weather already! Wow!

Love how blase you are about ripping out the knitting. But it's much easier to frog knitting than it is to frog x-stitch!

It'll be fun to see what applique you come up with for these pretty blocks.

You must have sent some of that warm air up this way. It was about 70 here and still pretty warm today.

Great job on your blocks - even better that they only cost $5.00. It will be fun to see your quilt all together.

Your blocks are so pretty! It'll be fun watching the whole thing come together.

I can't believe you're already so warm! It's 70 here today and was warm yesterday, but it's supposed to go back down to the upper 40's tomorrow. Ah well.

86! Wow--you've gone straight to summer weather, Jackie! It was a lovely 73 here today, but it looks like our warm weather will be short-lived.

Your quilt blocks look great--I really love the color combination you're using :)

Pretty blocks. I love the colors.

I almost broke down and turned on the a/c today. Thankfully, a breeze kicked up a little while ago and I made it without the a/c.

Your blocks are wonderful...can't wait to see the quilt all put together. We had it near 80 today here and I really loved it, but it will get cool again before we have nice weather to stay.

Omg..I've been hot and we're only in the 40s to 60s during the day. lol. Jackie, your blocks are so pretty--but I especially LOVE that first one--I can't wait to see the whole quilt. You are putting me to shame with your BoM. I have 2 blocks done and am behind about 8 months. lol!

Pretty quilt blocks Jackie! I look forward to see how you will embellish them.

Since your knitting goes quick I'm sure you will enjoy starting from the beginning again. Sounds like you enjoy it.

It was 86 here yesterday, but today it will be in the 70s. I love spring!

More great blocks from the master of quilting. I guess that should be the Queen of Quilting. I like alliterations. It got up to 80 yesterday in E TN. My husband is in a golf tournament today. It looks as though we may get rain. I hope it holds off till after the golf tour. It's for charity.

Pretty blocks! Your quilt is going to be so lovely.

I was really hoping we'd have a bit more spring like weather and not jump to summer. I had to turn the air on yesterday, our sun room heats the house up if I don't close the french doors. Sigh, I guess it's life in FL.

I'll have you know it's a 'balmy' 45 degrees out here today. So basically, air conditioned by nature. lol

Beautiful job on the block Jackie! I'm not looking forward to the extreme heat either. I hope we both get a few more weeks of cool days.

Lovely blocks! And I can hardly imagine you having to turn on the a/c. We had a freezing cold night last night. But, the weather is sunny, so I'm not complaining.
Good luck with your knitting. Glad it's a quick knit!

86. Yikes!! Spring has finally arrived here and I'm enjoying not having to turn the heat on--though I always forget just how much I dislike bugs until they reappear each year. :P

Wonderful blocks! I love the fabrics.
