Quick Update

I've finished this block a bit quicker than I anticipated so I thought I'd post a quick update. I have a little bit of finish work to do in the green center but that shouldn't take long once I get to it. I have 2 blocks to complete this project. Unfortunately, they're the type of block that I enjoy less than this one. So it might be a while!
Quakers and Quilts Progress
I'm thinking of starting a new knitting project. I'm not sure the yarn is going to work with the pattern. Going down a needle size might help. We'll see. This picture does not do the yarn justice. It's really a bit shiny in person and the color is more vibrant. Hopefully it will end up as a shawlette for my mom. It's not for Christmas unless it just happens to get done. I don't do deadlines generally. Nothing takes the fun out of a project faster - at least for me!

Oh, those tiny stitches and so many colors. So much patience to do it! Wonderful, Jackie!
And I really like the yarn you are using for the shawl for you mom. I agree, set dates to finish something is not really fun. I think that is why I am enjoying myself at the moment, because I left all the BOMs for a while and am making projects I feel like making (o:
Have a lovely weekend, Jackie!

The block looks great. I love the colors.

I don't like projects with deadlines either, but I always seem to end up doing them anyway. Love the blues in the yarn for the shawl. That really looks like fun to work with. is it silk?

Your stitching looks wonderful. I hope that you get through the next few blogs without them getting to you. And I know what that yarn looks like in person and whatever you make out of it is going to be wonderful. It looks perfect for a shawl.

That is a really pretty block, Jackie! And your varigated thread is just beautiful.

I'm not very good with deadlines except with exchanges...so, I never sign up for an exchange unless I'm positive I can meet the goal. I'm pretty lax when it comes to "planned" stuff. If I get it done when I planned, great but I try not to let myself get pressured. It's supposed to be fun, darn it!

Great progress on your stitching. And the yarn is just a dream. I'm so curious to see what you are doing with it. I love to see how the colours unfold while knitting with such a kind of yarn.
I'm with you about deadlines. I think that's the main reason why I'm slowly giving up on exchnages although I love doing them. But the deadlines always put me under pressure and sometimes the fun is gone in the end. SALs work much better for me as a gentle pressure is never bad, lol.

Beautiful work Jackie. I'm always very impressed with anyone who has the patience (& the eyesight) to do this type of handwork!

I love the yarn too....really pretty colors. Can't wait to see your project started.

Your stitching is absolutley gorgeous. I haven't done embroidery work in ages and you may have just inspired me!

Oh, your quilts are lovely. I had a lot of reading to do so I didn't post on everyone but just had to say, I love the colors and the designs you are working on. When I went to a recent show in Lancaster Karen of Rosewood Manor was there and this piece was on display. It was lovely completed. Made me want to drag mine out and get started. Maybe soon. I love the fiber you chose for the shawl. It is gorgeous.

That yarn is very pretty, Jackie! My daughter and BFF took me into a wonderful yarn shop a few times this summer. Oh. My. Gosh. I just wanted to throw the yarn on the floor and roll around on it. LOL I shouldn't admit that. Ahem.
