A Bit Quiet

It's time for my Bernina to go in for it's annual service. I dropped it off yesterday afternoon.

My sewing room looks empty.

I do have some quilting related activities set up and ready to go. I've pieced 8 setting triangles and 1 block that need applique fused onto them. The black rolled up fabric is my Jo's Little Women project that needs hand quilting. It's about half way finished. I also have my needle turn applique for the next project to do. As you can tell, I've made zero progress on it since I posted about it. I'm not going to be able to get all this completed in the next couple of weeks while my machine is in the shop due to other activities we have planned. It sure is nice to have options though! I have a couple of stitching and knitting projects to work on too so there won't be a lack of things to do.

Things around here will be a bit quiet for the next couple of weeks or so. I'll still be visiting your blogs and seeing what you have going on! My blog list gets longer every day! Thank you for visiting and I'll be back soon. Happy Stitches!

Hope your Bernina enjoys its trip to the "spa".

Just think what a joy it will be to sew on a nice, fresh machine.

PS: Every time I see that room of yours I get "room envy." giggle

I am looking forward to seeing that stitching project.

I know how hard it is not having your sewing machine, but it looks like you've got some things to work on until it comes back. I always found that I must sew when it's time for mine to go in and then make myself nuts!!!

Love what I see of your sewing room, especially that piece with the drawers. Can I ask where you got it? I need something like that for my room as I can use the top for another work surface!

Happy Halloween!!!!

I always feel like a part of me is missing when my Viking goes in for her yearly check up. Sounds like you are a busy gal these days. BTW - I love knitting, although I've just learned to cast on and the knit stitch. Are you still knitting?

So your machine gets to go on a retreat of its own! Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

Happy Halloween!

Your room does look empty and lonely, Jackie! But somehow that must also give you a peaceful feeling, to not be able to do any sewing. It's not your 'fault' it's because you have no machine. Have fun with the time you can spend on other projects, as you already named (o:

Happy Halloween!

It will be so nice to have a clean and oiled machine to sew on! You do have a lot of gorgeous projects to work on. I love all the fabrics in your previous post. Lucky girl!

Boy, does my machine ever need a break and to be cleaned and serviced. I just can't seem to find a few days that I can do without it. I always take it in the summer, but not this year. Maybe right after Christmas!

I am sure you will find plenty to keep you busy. It seems none of us have any shortage or projects that need some attention. LOL

I used to just about panic when my machine was gone. Now I'd just knit!

Your sewing room has stayed so neat. I'm impressed!

You are so much nicer to your machine than I am to mine, Jackie! In the 30+ years that I've owned it, it has never gotten a check-up (hanging my head in shame...)!

I hate being without my machine and it's not like I use it every day but when I want it I want it. Still lovin'(coveting) your sewing area! I share mine with the grandkids and their toys. :)

Scheduled maintenance is a necessary evil. It'll be like sewing on a new machine.

Hey! We have the same cutting table from IKEA! (great minds think alike)

Gosh...so close to holidays to do without the Bernina...at least you have that hand applique I've been waiting to see! :-) Enjoy the day!

You are right, the place looks empty indeed. But I'm sure you are happy when you have her back and she's working better than before. And I'm sure you will find something to work on wheile she's gone anyway, lol.

You're suppose to actually take your Bernina in for services?! ;) I have actually yet to do that in the 8 years i've owned. One of the reasons I choose it, they are such work-horses! Still, I should probably have it serviced by a professional soon just to make sure all is as it should be.
