Snails Trails and a Good Report

Today I worked on my $5 quilt block for next weekend. As you may remember, I've had some trouble with my blocks turning out too small. This one was too big. I'll make it work because I'm certainly not doing this one again. It took a long time. Overall, it's not my favorite block.

Cody and Kenzie had their spa day this week. You can now see their faces.
<span class=
Kenzie was playing in the wet grass. I had to post this picture though as generally her face comes out black due to her coloring.

They get a report card when they get groomed. Cody was a "Little Angel". Not sure I believe that because he just tolerates these visits. Kenzie, however, got a blue ribbon and a note that she was a sweetheart. She IS a sweetheart but under all that don't kid yourself - she is Alpha dog. All 10 pounds of her! She is small for her breed but she thinks she is a German Shepherd.
Greg and I were off all week and stayed at home. Had a really nice relaxing week together. I did a lot of reading which is my ultimate activity for chilling. Today Greg had his first 100 mile bike ride (bike as in bicycle). He did really well though his back is a bit sore. My exercise efforts have been respectable for me though I've been sidelined for the past 2 days. Hopefully I can get back to it tomorrow.

Tomorrow is Monday so it's back to work for me. I hope you all had a great weekend. I appreciate your visits to my blog and your comments. It's also wonderful getting to know each of you. Have a great week. Happy Stitches!

What sweet little pups! I LOVE the report card ---

So how long does a 100-mile ride take? Man --- I get bike butt after about 14 miles. LOL

Awww~ Your dogies are so cute!!!!! It's so interesting that you get score cards from the groomer!!! Sweet idea~~

I can't blame your for not wanting to redo your blocks. They sure look complicated!! All those different sizes of triangles and squares..... I can't tell where you got it wrong, though, they look mighty fine to me!!!!

Your Snails Trail block looks great. I know how hard they are to do. I wouldn't redo it either.

The doggies look great with their new haircuts.

100 mile bike ride? Sounds crazy lol.

Jackie, I think your 'Snails and Trails' block is wonderful! I have never sewn that block before but have been interested in trying it. I truly don't think I would want an entire quilt made of the design though. I loved the report card your babies got! Ours are going to the 'Spa' tomorrow. I think they are miserable because they got so shaggy this time. We are almost 3 weeks late getting them in due to emergency surgery I had. I've been pampered for 4 weeks now and am doing wonderfully (except that I haven't been able to sit at my machine for almost 3 months*ugh* soon I hope). BUT now it's their turn to be pampered, at least for the morning! They will feel much better tomorrow afternoon and so will we...as you say, we will be able to see their faces. LOL! It sounds like you had a great week but my gosh, 100 mile bike ride? I can't imagine!!! That is another thing I have to start over on...my exercise program. For over 9 months we were going to the gym and doing intense water aerobics 3 mornings a week for an hour. When I got sidelined, my hubby started walking on a track near our home. He is now up to 4 miles in under an hour, every single morning, and I just sit here getting less motivated every day. It will be hard to get back to it.

Nice quilt blocks, they are challenging to do! I love your little dogs. I have been exercising and I hope to just keep going, ha ha 100 mile bike race. Ask your husband why?? The challenge I guess, but my back hurts just thinking about it. Happy Monday.

Fun quilt block. I really like the pattern but it does look like it could be a bit time consuming so doubt I'll ever try one. They really do look cool though!

Good doggies!! I think the snail tails came out great! I don't think I'm brave enough to try!

Your block turned out nicely. It looks like a hard one to sew. Your puppies are so cute. Congrats to Greg on his long bike ride and to you for your exercise efforts.

oh how cute!!.. Now I know you dont like your block, but I think it looks fantastic - love the colours. I have also done a similiar block on a quilt a few years back and it was a realy pain, but the end result is well worth it.

Look at those darling faces! Like little angels (HA HA) I know terriers can be mischeif makers too! Your blocks are so beautiful - it seems like a great experience for you to find out what you like and what you don't like to do with your quilty time. Glad you had a nice relaxing vacation. Is fall ever coming ?

Nice doggie pictures. I think your snail's trail blocks look great. I have not tried to do those yet, but I have them on my bucket list, along with a pineapple block and apple core block quilts.

Your Snails Trail blocks are amazing, doing a snails trail quilt is on my To Do List, I love the looks of that pattern, but after seeing your 4 blocks, I'm not sure I'm up for a whole quilt of them. Maybe a few every now and then is the way to go with those blocks!

Great Job!
