Thank you and 2010

I'd like to thank everyone for their help with changing my blog to a three column format. I read through each and every tutorial and the comments on every tutorial. I find that the comments offer a lot of insight. The code was just a little bit different in my blog. Eventually one of your links lead me to find this link which did the trick! Evidently my blog template is called Denim. Who knew? Thank you all for sending the things that you did. I learned a lot!

I decided to not set goals for 2010. I have so many deadlines with work and I do "this" for fun. Even though it's a whole year, saying I want to get something done by 2010 IS a deadline. I did want, however, to put something on my blog so that I am conscious about what I have going on. So I've added a list of WIPs. If I find that it's not helping me be in a positive frame of mind, I'll simply delete it. For me, the fun part is the actual process of doing. While I enjoy the finished product, it's the part between the beginning and the end that brings me so much enjoyment. I have to say though that I enjoy following other people meeting their goals!

Yesterday, I got a chance to work on this one block. I still need to improve in the area of points. My 1/4" seam was better but not accurate...the block is still a bit too small.
While I was piddling away in my sewing room, Greg was at the Gator Bowl. There were over 87,000 people there to bid farewell to Bobby Bowden. That's more people attending than were at the Super Bowl. In Florida, college football is king! I glad he got the opportunity to go!
Today is a day of knitting and stitching. I hope you have a day full of stitches too!

Good for you for conquering the 3-column set-up for your blog. I'm not brave enough to try!!! LOL It's good to see you are making progress on your points in quilting, too!!! Keep up the good work.

Glad you got your blog into 3 column format. I'm still learning on the blog front as well. And usually I'm too lazy to do more than the minimum amount needed. lol! I love your quilt block -- the points look pretty good to me! I always have trouble getting blocks to be the right size. Stitching is much easier that way. :D Hope you're getting lots of stitching and knitting time!

Congratulations on your three columns! You did a very quick job. I guess I wasn't much of a help, telling you Ger did it for me ;o)

Have to get going. Having dinner ...

What a nice day you are having :) Like me but a lot warmer...LOL. Boy, my DH would love to be at the Gator bowl, actually any bowl for that matter :)You have had quite an exciting week down there with all the Meyer goings on....:)

Your blog looks great, and your stitching is awesome Jackie, I am in awe of both your gorgeous finishes and WIPs, you are my craft guru :)

I am the same way, I love the WIP way more than the finishing, though I love to see the finish...I have a few finishes waiting to be framed and hung, as we speak. I am a serial starter, but I do love watching the project evolve.

I am so glad to be a blog friend.

Hugs
Ma

One of my goals for this year is to change my blog out, but I've been scared to death to try it. I'll check out your link and see what I can do!

I'm with you on not setting goals for the new year. Well, I did set one, but I think I can manage it. I find with stitching it puts pressure on something that should be fun.

I love the colors in your quilt block. I think it looks wonderful.

Hope you have a wonderful day of knitting and stitching, and that you have a happy and healthy New Year.

I loved hearing Bobby in his interviews. Wouldn't you just love to sit down and have lunch with him?

Your quilt block is very pretty. You have a great eye for color matching. Love the blend of colors.

Your three-column blog looks great! In fact, I like it better than mine. You have more space in your center column than I do. Thanks for the link to the tute! Guess what I'll be trying to do?

I love the new look of your blog. Hvae been thinking of switching to three columns myself, but we'll see.
I always do some planning for a new yera but it's just for the fun of browsing through my stash and my UFOs and dreaming of what I could do next, lol.
Your quilt block looks gorgeous and so perfect.
I hope you were having the perfect stitching and knitting day.

The block points look fantastic! I always cut the points off, but as you say - it's all about the journey! Happy 2010, much better to start the year without a scary list of things to do! Much kinder to yourself!

I like the facelift on the blog Jackie. Look at all the great strides you've made in 2009 on expanding your pursuit of needlework adventures. I think you have done an amazing job for never having done any handwork prior to a couple of years ago. Best wishes for many happy stitches in 2010. Mel

Glad to see you had a productive time while Greg was at the game. I was sitting with my brother, in the next section up, and one section over to the right from where your husband was apparently. We waited for the traffic to subside and ended up following the band out of the stadium. Being former band geeks, we followed them to where the buses were and then headed to our own shuttle to the park-n-ride lot.
I'll have to blog about the game myself later. For now...knitting a scarf.
