The Day After

In true Florida Christmas fashion, yesterday we had to to turn on the air conditioning. At 9:21 it was 76 degrees (I think that is 24 C) and very humid inside our house. (I need to remind Greg that the day of the week is wrong on the keypad). It seems like most years we are running the A/C at Christmas. One year, I'd love to experience a white Christmas!
I was happy to use my Christmas china. I love this stuff! It really makes the table look festive!
On today's agenda: cleaning out the garage!
It took 5 hours. Of pure misery. It took Greg longer because he made the trash run and the Goodwill run. We took EVERYTHING out of the garage and off the shelves and really edited what we put back in. We got rid of loads of stuff. Now Greg wants to clean out the attic! UGH!

I hope you had a safe and happy holiday!

We're using this week to catch up on household chores too. Today it was patching the driveway. We still have powerwashing the deck to do and installing a new thermostat. The fun never ends. LOL

I love your Grandma's china pattern. I think that is the prettiest of the holiday patterns.

I had your white Christmas and it's 33 degrees now. I'll be thinking of you. I'd much rather have the cold than the hot. I can warm up easier than I can cool hot. It's all my insulation. lol

Wow, AC on Christmas! I don't think I've ever lived anywhere where I needed AC on Christmas. And I lived in Southern CA at one point. lol! Your garage looks nice and tidy after the cleanup. Boy, do we need to do the same thing -- to every part of our house!

Instead of a white Christmas, we had a wet Christmas. We had our a/c on as well. It's hard to get into the Christmas spirit when you have to turn on the a/c. *sigh*

I just love your Christmas China!!!
And what a great accomplishment cleaning out the garage. That must give you a wonderful feeling.
You know, I made a big sigh when I read that you were going to do it. Probably reminding me of the mess we have *LOL*

Isn't it funny how the idea of a new year beginning triggers people to clean out, throw out, tidy up! I desperately need to work on my attics (two!!) and linen closet, Jackie, but the attics will have to wait for warmer weather.

Send some warmer weather up to PA--I've had my white Christmas, now I'm ready for some sun :)

Maybe don't wish for a white Christmas...I did. Received my wish and got stuck at home for the holidays!

Good on you cleaning out the garage! It makes me wish for some free time to do ours!

Is this possible, 76F soemwhere in the world? Lol. I can only think of cold and snow and ice as it's snowing here right now and the roads are every slippery today.
Have fun at your garage :))))

The garage looks great! I never help clean the garage, just drop stuff off and my guys magically find a place for it. I love your Christmas china too. It is very elegant.

Easy to say you'd like a white Christmas, until it's time to shovel, and face the challenges of going anyplace! I admit though, it's wonderful if you can stay home, but who can really do that?

Loved seeing the before and after of your garage! I'd just like weather nice enough to be able to wash my car outdoors. Grunge for several months is not pretty. Have fun in the attic!

Does Greg wanna come clean out our garage? LOL! We will be working on taking down the rest of the Christmas and doing other things we need to catch up with this week.Wish a had a good way to organize the stuff we have. I love your grandma's china! My sister has Christmas china too, never seemed to be anything I attempted to buy, I've always wanted to though.

Be careful what you wish for. We finally had melting the last couple of days, but there are still grey, dirty piles of snow everywhere.

Congrats on a nice clean-up job for the new year.

I love your Christmas china! However, cleaning out the garage on the day after Christmas should be against the law! lol, but I bet it feels so good to have it done!! =)

WOW! I wish I could get my husband to take everything out BEFORE we start re-organizing and "cleaning." It means we don't get rid of everything we should have, like you did! Congratulations!!!

Yes it was disgustingly hot in our neck of the woods wasn't it jackie! We also had to run the A/C on chrismas eve and Christmas Day and the fan in the guest room at my folks during the night - urghhh - I wanted a fire in the fireplace so bad. Love your china pattern - it's lovely and that clean garage -makes me feel like a lazy slug - oh well - maybe only a little LOL -I hope you enjoy your week and accomplish a lot. Melody
