On the Road to Recovery!

I'm finally feeling better....yesterday I felt human for the entire day! Thank you all for your well wishes. There has been very little crafting of any sort this week. Maybe it's just me but I think that blowing my nose 49,000 times while knitting and quilting is kind of gross. So my knitting needles lay idle for almost 2 weeks(until yesterday) and the only quilting that was done was mandatory for class.

Here is the view from my dining room window today. Yesterday was literally beach weather, today it's rainy and yucky. I'm not sure that I care as I have some quilting homework to do for Wednesday's class. It's going to be a quiet, stay at home day for us which is just fine!
I did win a contest that Kitty at Kitty's Bloggy Bits was having a couple of weeks ago. She lives in England and was generous enough to send me some yummy chocolate, some charm squares, and a beautiful felted flower pin! The photos are a bit dark due to the weather.
I just love the plaid fabric on top!
Lots of charm squares! Lovely!
So cute! Thank you so much Kitty!

Yesterday I cast on for Knitting Pure and Simples Childrens Neck Down Bolero with some Lorna's Laces yarn called Tickled Pink. Did several inches, found out I didn't have gauge and ripped it out and started over with bigger needles. If it would have been coming out larger, I would have just left it but it was coming out smaller. I'm making 2 of these this year but in different colors. Hopefully I'll have pictures soon!

This is going to be a very stressful week at work. We are crazy busy and there is a big production push that is going to require many extra hours (not that I wasn't working them already). I really can't complain considering how many people in my industry have uncertain futures. Being really busy during these times is a blessing if you're in the mortgage business. I'm happy that I'm feeling better and will enjoy my daily lunch breaks where I get to destress by having 30 minutes to knit. It's amazing how much finding a quiet corner for a few minutes of knitting really helps! Too bad more people aren't knitters....it certainly would make the world a better place!

I'm glad your squares reached you Jackie - I was starting to worry they'd gone AWOL in the Atlantic Ocean! I hope you have fun with them, and there are plenty of bits of fabric you can use in there. Enjoy the chocolate too. Take care, I hope you feel much better soon. x

Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Kitty's milk chocolate bar looks awful yummy! The fabrics will be fun to use too. Go easy this week especially if work is going to be demanding.

I love the little felted pin, and am very impressed by all the hand stitching! You will wear it joyfully, I'm sure.

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Yeah...weird weather the last few days huh? Now it's freezing again! I'm not complaining, I like it on the cooler side. Take that chocolate to work...it'll help with the stress. :D

Good to hear you are on the mend. I know what you mean by "beach weather" as it has seemed like late Spring early summer this week, and today we have 3 inches of snow on the ground!

Jackie - it's good to know you're feeling better - I was getting worried! What fun prizes from Kitty across the pond - I just love the flower - and chocolate is the best medicine I know! Hope you make it through your stressful week!
Cheers!

Glad you are feeling better and on your feet. Happy to hear that work is busy. It might not be fun but it is nice to know that you are needed. Knitting at lunch will make the day more fun!
