Down the Road

My second quilt is done! It's called Down the Road. I wasn't planning on finishing it today but once I unpacked all my sewing stuff, I couldn't seem to stop. My first project didn't have a border. This one has 2! It was easier than I thought it would be. It was SO nice to be back in my sewing studio (snort) also known as my dining room! It's late and I don't have a picture of the complete quilt but I'll try and post one next weekend.
I fell in love with this fabric. I have no idea why as it really isn't something I would normally like. It's Kansas Troubles Wildflower Serenade. I have a 1/2 yard left over. I bought everything my LQS had left. I had wanted to use it for the backing but there wasn't enough so I used it for the inner border.
Now it's on to scrap management!

I wish you best of luck with the quilting....as it's not something I care to attempt. I'm still lucky to knit the little bit I do. lol

word verf: brato....a certain annoying teenager may get called that soon if he doesn't stop being so annoying.

The colours are lovely. The panel you posted back in November was beautiful. Can't wait to see the finished project.

I love the fabric too!!! I never used to care much for browns but over the last year or so, I have been stockingup and I just thing browns, golds and reds make the most beautiful quilts. I guess I am stuck in Autumn. The pictures you show from "Meet the Teachers" - were they taken at your LQS? It looks like a warehouse.

OK be honest, is it hard? I desperately want to try quilting but I don't really understand how it works...

I like it, too. I am gathering my forces to start a 'junior' size quilt for grandbebe two. Interesting that your suggestion on my blog contest was Crazy Mom Quilts. Dearest Sister (just-a-mere.blogspot.com) has suggested her to me often as well.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and entering my contest!

Congrats, on the FO! The colors are lovely and so is the print you like so much. It will be nice to see the whole quilt so I will be looking for the post.

I love it Jackie, you do great work...and to stay on top of your scraps is wonderful...if you go to www.thompsonfamilyquilts.blogspot.com and see that I am having to deal with alot of scraps after years of accumulations...so stay on top and you won't be like me, taking time out of each day to cut the scraps up and get them in order. Thanks for visiting my blog...I appreciate you comments.

Hi Jackie. That's my mother's name too. :) I need to take a class because I can't read directions for the life of me. I have to hold things in my hands and touch it and figure it out. I'm excited about my goal and impatient to start.

Nice to meet you.

Hi Jackie, I hate to use up your comment board with my discovery...but I was so excited I had to tell you what I did today. I am stippling (FMO) and I was having trouble bunching on the bottom...so I went and took out as many pins as wouldn't compromise my quilt (pins every 6 inches apart) and I ironed the quilt where I wanted to stipple. It is awesome...works wonderfully. Just thought you might like to know this????
